A few pics from the ‘Two Weeks of Crazy’

Well, as many of you know, it’s been a bit beyond the usual insanity the past couple of weeks,  starting with our moms’n’kidz healthy food class & going straight through to a big conference this past Friday.  Now that we’ve actually started keeping a camera at the kitchen again we have a few pics of what was keeping us so busy!  More to come soon!

(p.s.  if you click on the pic you can see the full size version!)

From a friend’s retirement party:  Crispy Thai Shrimp Bundles w/ Spicy Peanut Lime Sauce. I found the cutest ever disposable asian soup spoons made of bamboo so put a dollop of sauce in each with the dumpling on top.  So happy w/ the presentation!  And they tasted great too, lol!

Spicy Roast Beef & Salsa Tortilla Spirals for the same party.

A spread of finger foods for a late afternoon party, this time at the Royal Vic Hospital.

Pretty tulips to help boost our spirits & carry us through!

Zero  Fat  Tartar Sauce to go with the Oh So Really Not Classic Fish’n’Chips.

And the Oh So Very Classic Shepherd’s Pie!

Fresh Fruit Platter for an early morning conference breakfast.

Yet another finger food spread, this time arranged by Emily for AIDS Community Care Montreal.

More pretty flowers to bring smiles to the kitchen & to lure spring to Montreal.

The rest of the early morning continental breakfast spread for the conference at the Royal Vic Hospital.

Toasting ourselves at the end of the week with a much appreciated gift from a wonderful friend!

And a huge thank you to all my loyal seekrit (and other!) friends for their patience & support!

Easter Sunday Sushi & other ‘catch-up’ pics from the past couple of wks

(Don’t forget that you can click on the pics to see the full size versions!)

After a tumultuous few weeks I once again found time to get the pics off the camera, onto the computer, and then finally here….starting with last Sunday’s sushi party at a friend’s place.  We had all the basic veggies (cukes, peppers, carrots, snopeas, asparagus, mango, mint, cilantro, basil, tomatoes, etc. etc. etc.) along with smoked salmon, smoked tuna, & shrimp.  My plans for having more fresh fish were foiled by Easter Sunday closures of both (!!) Provigo & Metro, but it turned out we had *lots* of everything for everyone!  We rounded out the menu with traditional edamame and crispy chicken & cabbage dumplings….along with beer, wine, & sake, of course!  Much fun was had by the sushi novices who totally rocked at rolling.
